Elderberry Extract
Elderberry Extract is a traditional medicinal plant; its flowers, fruits, and leaves all have medicinal value. Its main effects include anti-oxidation, antiviral activity, and boosting immunity. It is commonly used to relieve cold symptoms, reduce inflammation, and promote wound healing. It is mainly consumed by brewing tea, making syrup, or infusing in alcohol, but it should be noted that raw elderberry is poisonous and must be processed before use.
Efficacy and Uses
Antioxidant and Antiviral:
Elderberry fruit is rich in anthocyanins, polyphenols, and other antioxidants that can scavenge free radicals; its extracts have a certain inhibitory effect on influenza viruses and herpes viruses.
Boosting Immunity:
The vitamin C and polysaccharides in the fruit can stimulate the activity of immune cells, helping to shorten the duration of a cold.
Anti-inflammatory and Healing Promotion:
External application of elderberry flowers can relieve skin inflammation, and a decoction of the branches and leaves used as a wet compress helps wound healing. II. Consumption Methods
